Pure tungsten electrodes are perfect for alternating current (AC) welding of aluminum and magnesium alloys in low to medium amperage applications. They work only with transformer-based constant current power sources. The pure (green) tungsten forms a clean, balled end when heated, offering excellent arc stability for balanced or unbalanced squarewave or sine wave welding. Key features include: it's non-radioactive, great for AC welding, balls easily but may spit at higher amps, and is used for welding aluminum and magnesium.

Using these pure tungsten electrodes is simple. First, make sure you're using a transformer-based constant current power source as they're designed for that. Set your amperage to low or medium as these are best for aluminum and magnesium alloys. When you heat the electrode, it'll form a nice balled end, which helps with a stable arc. But be careful, at higher amps, it might spit a bit. After use, keep the electrodes in a dry place to prevent any damage. And always follow basic safety rules like wearing proper protective gear.
