Description
The XMT family is a top - choice in the industry, thanks to its portability and outstanding arc performance. ArcReach technology offers cordless remote control of the power source, saving both time and money.
Built - in Pulse Programs
These programs reduce the heat - affected zone, allow welding in all positions. They're great for welding thick - to - thin metal, have good gap - filling ability, and enable faster travel speeds and deposition.
SharpArc
It controls the arc in Pulsed MIG mode, giving you full control over the arc cone shape, puddle fluidity, and bead profile.
Advanced Features for Pros
Adaptive Hot Start™ makes starting stick electrodes a breeze without inclusions. Infinite arc control in Stick and Wire modes helps fine - tune tough - to - weld materials and out - of - position applications. Lift - Arc™ starts the arc while minimizing electrode contamination without high - frequency use.
Standard 14 - Pin Receptacle
It's flexible and can be used with spool guns, feeders, and remote controls.
Welder - Friendly Control Panel
The process selector switch simplifies control setups without sacrificing features. The ultra - tough, polycarbonate - blended cover protects front controls. Large, dual digital meters are easy to read and pre - set for weld output.
Reliability
Wind Tunnel Technology™ protects internal components, boosting reliability. The Fan - On - Demand™ cooling system runs only when needed, reducing noise, energy use, and contaminants.
Additional Features
The 70 Series MPa wire feeder offers synergic pulsed MIG. As you adjust the wire feed speed, pulse parameters change accordingly, eliminating extra adjustments. It also adds wire deposition capabilities with Insight Core™. The XR - AlumaFeed™ wire feeder provides Profile Pulse™, giving TIG - like appearance with MIG simplicity. You can achieve a 'stacked dimes' look without gun manipulation and adjust the Profile Pulse frequency for the desired weld appearance.

Using the Miller XMT 450 CC/CV 230/460V is straightforward. First, make sure to connect it to the right power source according to the voltage requirements. When you start welding, if you're using stick electrodes, the Adaptive Hot Start™ feature will make it easy. Just press the electrode gently against the metal and it'll start without creating inclusions. For Pulsed MIG mode, the SharpArc feature gives you great control over the arc. You can adjust the arc cone shape, puddle fluidity, and bead profile to get the perfect weld. The 14 - pin receptacle allows you to connect spool guns, feeders, and remote controls easily. When using the wire feeders, like the 70 Series MPa or XR - AlumaFeed™, just set the wire feed speed as needed. The 70 Series MPa will adjust the pulse parameters automatically to match the wire speed. For the XR - AlumaFeed™, you can change the Profile Pulse frequency to achieve different weld appearances. As for maintenance, thanks to the Wind Tunnel Technology™, the internal components are well - protected. But it's still a good idea to keep the machine in a clean and dry place. The Fan - On - Demand™ cooling system reduces the amount of contaminants pulled through, but you should still check the vents regularly to make sure they're not blocked. If you notice any issues, don't try to fix it yourself. Contact a professional welder or the manufacturer's service team.
