Description
The Crown 255 is an affordable nickel-iron electrode ideal for general repairs on all clean cast, ductile, nodular, and meehanite iron. It creates welds with greater strength and ductility compared to straight nickel electrodes. The weld deposits are machinable, hard, and highly resistant to abrasion. This electrode is perfect for heavy sections of high-strength and engineering-grade cast iron.

Using the Crown 255 stick electrode is easy. First, make sure the cast iron surface you're working on is clean. This electrode works great on clean cast, ductile, nodular, and meehanite iron. When welding, it'll give you strong and ductile welds. Remember, the deposits are machinable, but they're also hard and resistant to abrasion. For best results, keep in mind the tensile strength can go up to 70,000 psi and the yield strength up to 55,000 psi. The color match is good, and the elongation in 2' is between 2 - 12%. The hardness of the deposit is from 200 to 400 Brinell, and it's magnetic. After use, store the electrode in a dry place to maintain its quality. It comes in a 1# or 10# package, so choose the one that suits your needs.
